Mounjaro is a new medication that has been shown to be effective in promoting weight loss. Mounjaro contains the drug Tirzepatide, which works by targeting a protein named glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide receptor (GIP receptor). This protein helps regulate blood sugar levels and also plays a role in appetite and weight regulation.
While Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) has received initial approval for use, it is not yet available in the USA.
